getting side tracked

Not much stitching getting done here….. Oh yes.. just a little, on a retreat last weekend…I'll catch up with that one soon.. promise!

I've become addicted to following the World Hang gliding Championships in Mexico!
I know… thats a bit weird!!…
But there is a team of 6 Aussies competing  over there and one is my (little) brother.

The boys are doing extremely well after 6 days of competition and are coming 3rd… behind the Italian and French teams.

just a little excited after scoring for the team!

I have been getting up at 6.30 (AM)!! to watch little dots zooming around on my computer screen. Its live tracking and I can follow him, see what altitude he's at, how fast he's flying, when he is in a thermal and is spiralling upward. ..just amazing!
There are 115 pilots from all over the world and they are set a different course each day of about 120 kms, with turning points they must reach and a goal.

the only place to get internet… at the shearing shed!

Yesterday Guy came to an abrupt end only 3kms before goal…Landing in a rocky gully... Luckily he's only bruised and his glider is OK… today was a lay day.. so at least he's had a little time to recover.

4 more days to go!!

 Awesome effort boys!... GO Australia!!
