Where did October go?

You would think I had nothing to blog about!

Do I catch up all in one go… and bore you all? .. Yes!

In the past 8 weeks I've had…..
3 retreats
2 weddings
1 funeral
A walk up Mt Kosciuszko
A visit to the Starlight room
A visit to the Supreme Court
A few weekends on the farm
A conference at Port Macquarie
And a weeks work in Inverell
But ...no partridge in a pear tree!….

First…. A quilt finish….Wendy Williams designed 'Two's Company' for a special little Great God Child…. (if there is such a thing).. Harrison Charles.  I Loved making this!!

A workshop in Newcastle with the lovely Marg Sampson George…very inspiring .. but I still haven't made a start!

Di Ford was another lovely tutor at Cottage Quilt Works …working on the Morell Quilt

This is my effort so far...

Retreat at Middlebrook Station near Scone

Fox quilts were the order of the day..One in liberty.. one 1930's and one repro prints.

My foxes are finished!!

A weekend at farm and the cows were impressed with Harrisons quilt.

Yes.. I even stitch in the dark while having sunset drinks!!

New boys on the block… meet William and Harry…. our cows were impressed!!

A proud day when DD2 was admitted to the Supreme Court as a Lawyer ...

The Starlight room at the John Hunter Hospital and a presentation of $117,000.00 from our fundraising on our Trek 4 Kidz Bash.

A Wedding in Newcastle... the beautiful Eleanore and Robert

A few stitching buddies party on!.. can you recognise anyone?.. esp the Mother of the Bride.

And a Wedding at Lake Crackenback…My nephew Andrew and his beautiful bride Emma.. The 1st in the family… so a very happy event and fabulous setting.

What do you do in the Snowy Mountains in summer?… walk up Mt Kosciuszko!..Of course!!.. only 13klms and temps of MINUS 14 degrees C!!
….that is chocolate we are holding!… and Mr Floss has his socks on his hands!!

Unfortunately we had another family event this same weekend when we farewelled our dear Uncle Ken. He was 92 and such a lovely man. A good old farmer who has seen so many changes in his life. I love all his wonderful pictures of farming on his most modern equipment!!

I'd better keep up in future! (This has taken me ages!!)… I hope your happy Chooky!
Till next time

The baskets just kept growing….and growing….but I think they all had fun!

This cute little rubbish bin was made by my friend Debbie..

Some awesome placemats… made in a similar way.. but the fabric and rope are plaited

Just a few little baskets I whipped up earlier

Trek 4 Kidz

Tenterfield to Woolgoolga
day's total 393.9 kms

The last day of our trek...
A frosty start in Tenterfield… Oliffe was pleased!
trek 1.. a horrible steep, winding road!! ….Another Whoops!… all OK
A happy rock on the side of the road… having a fat time!.
A photo shoot for our sponsors!
From tall gums to rainforests to the Clarence River and Nymboider National park ….the scenery was always changing… the dust on the roads didn't!!
r

Lunch break at Jackadgery… time to refuel.. clean the air filter.. and fix the dust lights

Truck lotto …the truck tyre is marked with numbers and people buy a number.. if, when the truck stops, your number is in line with  the plum bob then you win 1/2 the prize money..(the rest goes to Starlight).. no numbers lined up ALL week.. so Starlight did Very well!!…great fundraiser!

Finally the Beach … Woolgoolga.. we made it!!
Time to party and awards presented…
We were presented with 2 awards...
The 'Old Coots' Award!!…What The???… Did I hear right???  How embarrassing !!
( I think I probably aged 10 years over the week!…but.. seriously.. old coot??)
I didn't think Mr Rally Driver was going that slow!!

THEN we were called up for the 'Old Grey Fox' award… Really??
( a very prestigious award for being cunning!)
That was a big drop from being the outright winners last time!!
...But there is always next year..
It has been a privilege to help raise funds to help Starlight carry on their wonderful work with seriously ill children. The trek raised over $110,000.00!!
We had some wonderful support from people who bought raffle tickets, friends who gave us donations and supporters such as Australian Drilling Systems, Curtis Gant Irving Solicitors, the Brook Medical Centre and Finders Keepers Muswellbrook.
 A Huge Thank you all.

Back to reality now…
Cheers Nav Girl.. alias Floss
