January's projects were... an Annie Downes shoe bag and a Natalie Bird thread catcher.
The thread catchers became rather addictive and I ended up making 4
The shoe bags were also a lot of fun and I made 2..but have plans for more..(watch out girls, guess what mum is giving you for your birthdays!)
We had a wonderful dinner with friends at their place in Manly..
( It was their anniversary also.)
Fabulous food and wines were consumed and a good night was had by all.
Manly beach the day after Australia Day...wet and windy...but still beautiful!
I'm off to start the next project now...another Natalie Bird..out of Red Home.
Its just so good to have someone to stitch-a-long with!
cheers Lea

I'm so hearing you about the fabric stash. Yet, I have triumphed in one project. I was so taken with Leanne Beasley's "Frogs in a Pond" in the current Vignette, that I went through my fabric stash, selected a cat print to fussy cut and then picked out all the random fat 1/4 and other bits I had to play with and had a huge cutting session. I've got the blocks pieced and now it is about joining things together to make the top! Not one bit of fabric purchased for the top, and I will see what I can do for the backing. Unfortunately I don't have enough batting to finish it, so I will have to secure some more. Just waiting for the big chain fabric store down the road to have a sale and then I'll be in like flynn!
ReplyDeleteSome great finishes there Lea, and awesome pictures of the beach. Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby!!
