trek 2015

Gosh!.. I have fallen off the blog-a-sphere haven't I?

Just had a fantastic week away with Trek 4 Kidz … I didn't even get to do a day by day description this year either!
So here is a summery of our week…

This years Trek was called Fossickers Drive.. we started in Mudgee... (where a blogging buddy came to see us off).. then onto Temora… across the Hay Plain and down to Swan Hill…. Bendigo…Beechworth....Yass and finished in Bathurst with a lap around Mt Panorama.

Last minute repairs--- mud flaps!

no corners anywhere on the Hay Plain!

Swan Hill on the Murray River

A gold rush theme dress up night in Bendigo…..6 metres of fabric, a lot of pin tucks and rouching.. but I did win best dressed female!!

The truck…fitted out with Bar
visiting schools and the Olaf costume came out again.

The gang…what an awesome bunch of people… raising a record $220,000.00 for the Starlight Foundation.
Helping put smiles on the faces of sick kids while they have treatment in Hospital...and also granting wishes to seriously ill children.

A lap around Mt Panorama
And the winners are…..not us!…. but we were 3rd overall.. great effort for good old faithful Car 57

Then as we headed home 30 kms out of Bathurst.. disaster struck.. and the wheels fell off…. well not exactly.. but the diff broke!.. a very sad end!!.. at least we got to use our triangles and hi vis vests!!

Getting home became another adventure...when we couldn't hire a car.. (well we could if we brought it back again the next day!! ..?)
So we stowed our gear with my bloggy friends mother (thanks Thimblestitch).. got a bus to Lithgow.. another bus to Springwood, a train to Central.. then borrowed our daughters car to drive 3 hours home!!

This trip was our last as we had actually sold car 57 while on the trek.. she gave us a lot of good memories.. and I will miss the spearmint green beast and our trek family…. give us a few years and we may be back… with a Kingswood!!
